The first jaw transplant with an artificial prosthesis made by a 3D printer took place a few months ago in Padua. In general, the additive manufacturing is revolutionizing the whole industry of implants, which will be customized making unique pieces.
The mandible of Padua was created by SINTAC, of the GPI Group, a conglomerate of about 150 million euro in revenues in the medical technology sector. Radio24 discussed it with Fausto Manzana, CEO of GPI.
