In the second half of 2026, Gpi signed contracts in Italy worth approximately €22 million in HR software. The main one covers the new, unified personnel administration system for the entire Regional Health Service in Lombardy, where for the first time 42 organisations will work on the same platform. For the consortium of companies led by Gpi, the agreement is worth approximately €18.8 million over six years, of which €16.4 million is attributable to Gpi.
A single system for 137,000 people
Hospitals and emergency and urgent care services currently use different IT systems to manage personnel and payroll and will progressively adopt the same solution. The platform will cover the entire professional lifecycle of approximately 137,000 people, including employees, contracted doctors and other collaborators, from initial recruitment through to career progression, via shift scheduling, training and performance assessment. Artificial intelligence will help with searching for information and forecasting expenditure and staffing needs, enabling the Region to oversee its workforce through a single system.
In the same sector, Gpi has also been awarded the personnel administration contract for ASL Roma 1 under a Consip framework agreement for digital healthcare (over €2.7 million). To this are added the Italian Chamber of Deputies contract for parliamentarians’ remuneration (over €1.6 million) and the Istituto Poligrafico e Zecca dello Stato (Italian State Printing Works and Mint) contract for payroll and social security contributions (approximately €800,000).
“In Italy, we process approximately 700,000 payslips every month for healthcare organisations and public and private sector bodies. Our reliability is built on solutions that enable public administrations to manage their processes, reduce organisational complexity and, ultimately, free up valuable time for staff. This is the vision that drives us as we continue to support organisations on their digital transformation journeys,” said Matteo Santoro, General Manager and Managing Director, Italy, at Gpi.
