Gpi (Gruppo per l’Informatica – Informatics Group) was founded in 1988 in Trentino, Italy by a young entrepreneur, Fausto Manzana, who foresaw the emerging role of information technologies in the development of a recently instituted National Health System (Italian Law 833/78) in continuous transformation (Italian Laws 502/92 and 517/93).
